Raphael watched Sam sit down and then finally, he relaxed. His body slid down the wall and he wrapped his arms around himself. His head was pounding, he was so tired and he had a punishment on it's way. It was hard to get comfortable. He shook his head slowly and then closed his eyes.
Then forced them back open. Sleep wasn't allowed. He grunted and whined as he forced his eyes open wide.
"Can't sleep, huh?" Shouldn't sleep, more likely. Sam was really only working off of context clues here, but clearly the whole dream thing had made Raphael uneasy. To say the least. It had also royally screwed over Sam by extension, so maybe dreaming was a bad idea.
"There's some tricks to staying awake." Sam tried to think of one that didn't require coffee or anything else they couldn't obtain right now. "Maybe I should tell you what you missed on Glee." Might keep him engaged. "Not really my kinda show though. I'm more of a documentary kind of guy. Matty watches it. Then lies about watching it."
Tiredly, Raphael dropped on his side in the corner on the cell, curled into himself, lying down and just watching Sam. It was fun to have company and he had no idea how much he missed it. He had been around demons only for however long it had been, not a single pleasant conversation and often lots of beatings. It was nice to just listen to idle chatter.
Sam always had such a nice voice. He wondered if Sam had any sort of idea how bad it was going to be. How awful it would be for him. How much he'd suffer for acting as he was. That was not submission. He would have to learn but for now, he could enjoy it. His eyes remained focused on Sam, clearly engaged despite everything. What was happening on Glee?
"There's two cheerleaders who are dating. They make out. That's what Matty pretends to care about, when he admits to watching it at all." Matty was terrible at being consistent with his denial. "It's bullshit though. He likes the gay boy the most." Not that Sam knew which gay boy. Or even whether there was more than one gay boy. He just knew when his brother was interested in a character, there was a different level of enthusiasm.
Sam propped himself up on his elbows, looking over at Raphael. "I used to joke about Cas and Matty. Not sure it's a joke any more. Just makes me feel like a third wheel."
Ah yes, in denial Matty. He remembered that. He sighed almost in a relaxed way, despite himself, just listening to Sam talk. Everything he said was so refreshing and different, even if he didn't know anyone's names from Glee and clearly didn't care for it. He didn't mind, it was just nice. Like old times. As long as he was careful and kept distance, he could enjoy that, couldn't he?
Why not get some of the benefits. He got to hear the hot new gossip. So Cas and Matty were banging? Interesting. He closed his eyes, finally, as keeping them open wasn't working.
"In order to get all those horsemen's rings, Bobby traded in his soul. Made a deal with Aleister." Sam wasn't sure when this had turned to simply narrating his life story of the last few years, mostly the depressing high lights. He knew more about that than he knew about Glee. "I guess you've met Bobby. He was the one to tell us how to defeat a trickster."
It seemed so long ago now. "He's sort of..." Sam paused, then shrugged. "I think he's the closest I've ever had to a dad. My real one was... Eh. I guess I don't have to tell you about difficult fathers."
