Raphael seemed to hear Sam and the light dimmed in his eyes as he turned to look at Sam, unsure what the issue was but he didn't want to frighten him. Humans were fragile, easily upset, he had to be gentle. He had to protect Sam. Lazar was loose somewhere, he would hurt him if Raphael wasn't ready. Hurt them all.
"Cas, what is up with him? He's gone from goofball to -- whatever this is. He killed like 15 demons in half a second and healed Sam too." He didn't heal Matty, which was interesting. He frowned. "It's only Sam he response to."
Raphael let go of Sam and then turned to look around cautiously.
Suddenly, without warning, Raphael's wings burst out in a grand display. It was a strange contract - the unassuming face of Raphael and those grand, glorious wings. They had been hurt and broken for so long, now they felt better. They wanted to be out, to stretch.
