"I said one magazine and one candy-thing, Matty," Bobby called after the boy when he dashed off with a suspicious amount of enthusiasm. He looked at Sammy, who was in the shopping cart, looking at him with his big dark eyes and blowing a spit bubble. "What sweet do you want? I already got your bananas. I know not to forget those."
Tragic had been the day that they'd run out of bananas.
Bobby reached up to rub his face while pushing the shopping cart further a bit, which was when he bumped into someone. He quickly pulled the cart back and looked, apologising already. "Sorry, I wasn't lookin', sorry."
He was looking now and his eyes widened a little. That was a lot of make-up on a guy. "Wow."
Bobby knocked on the door of the house, taking a step back and looking it over. Not the worst, he supposed, some work on the hinges, perhaps a fresh coat of paint down the line. If that was the state of the house in general, they weren't in as much trouble as he'd feared.
"It's me, Bobby! I brought your car, it's good as new." At least the engine ran smoothly, anyway.
It was still before lunchtime, Sam was in day care and Matty at school, so he had time to take care of some stuff, such as bringing the car over personally.
For the most part, this place wasn't half bad as far as scenes went. He had to drive out of town to pick up anyone and grindr really helped him to connect but he found people and he had his fun. Sex was exciting, he couldn't have imagined it would be as good as it was after all they had been taught. Lucifer did it often, talked about it non-stop, but he had the benefit of picking up women.
And aside from the times he was an idiot and went for someone's wife or girlfriend, it was relatively risk free. Michael, however, lacked the safety of straightness.
He made a dodgy move at the bar, misread a signal and the guy was not best pleased. When the guy stormed off, he assumed it was just a matter of avoidance from now on and no eye contact. Whoops!
What he didn't expect was to be decked in the car park. The fucker didn't just leave, he went to get his mates. Who were currently shoving him up against his car and sucker punching him in the gut.
Lucifer had come down to breakfast a little late, somewhat hungover and not very awake. Therefore, he had missed it at first. But then he had half-heard Michael telling Raphael something about having fallen over and then he looked up, a bite of oatmeal halfway to his mouth.
He closed his mouth, his eyes narrowed. But the kids were right there and so he grabbed his phone to text.
who?
He sent it off and then called out to Michael. "Mikey, your phone. Could be important."
